As I clean the litter boxes today, I have had several questions about litter box training. All my adult rabbits are litter trained, what I consider trained, they are 100% urinating in the box, and 85% pooing. Rabbits mark their territory with poo balls, if you have an intact rabbit odds are they are leaving a trail of poo balls.

My bunnies start out litter training as soon as they hop out of the nest. Sometimes they catch on fast, sometimes it’s a lot of work. My bunnies is slated as pets, so they are at least using it when they leave. You must reinforce litter training when they go home. They won’t automatically go to the litter box.

I keep hay and food bowls in the litter box , because rabbits go where they eat. And keep their area small, until they use litter box.

I adopted Archer last year, he was around 8 mon old. It only took 3 days to litter train him, so if you give your rabbits the needed time, all rabbits can be litter trained.

All my Supplies I use can be found HERE

I do have 3 litters due February 20th, I do keep a waitlist. The link to my adoption policy and waitlist form is down below.

Thank you!
